The title Windfall describes the process of how these images emerged in the mind. They suddenly appeared and fell on top of the paper by themselves. These pieces focus on abstract visuals that flow from the mind. Some common themes are circles, flowers, and velvety darkness. The usage of coal creates that sense of depth for the darkness, and graphite power is also used to add to the illusion of eternal darkness but adds a sparkle to it. There is a strong contrast between darkness and light, especially in some more than others. The contrast between the two gives the drawings a more stark difference than a smooth ombre effect. This intentionally demonstrates how the darkness might be the first thing one sees, but it is not the main focus, similar to how people tend to focus on the darkness and not the light. It is a half-cup full perspective rather than a half-cup empty outlook.
