This piece explores the idea of aging and memory. In my psychology class, I was taught was people get older their memories fade. As a manifestation of this concept, I created this book where the first page has the biggest holes and the last pages have smaller ones as people tend to cling on to their older memories. Using abaca handmade paper further conveys this idea as it is a fiber that is able to make transparent paper which can be layers together mirror the layers and folds of a brain. The images are displays in this geometric way as there is an idea in psychology where memories are nodes that are connected. For example, the dog in this is connected to other memories/images that include the dog as a representation of this idea.
